EAGLES Center Watershed Lesson
Potomac Middle School students visited the Eastern Area Grounds for Learning Environmental Science (EAGLES) Center, located next to Belmont Elementary School, to participate in a Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE). The program is designed to teach sixth-graders about environmental stewardship and education about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Students learned the importance of how watersheds filter out pollutants and how to keep pollutants from reaching the Chesapeake Bay. An interactive activity demonstrated the teamwork required to manage wetlands.
